2019 Alzheimer’s Association BBQ & Cathy’s House

We held our 2019 Alzheimer’s Association BBQ Fundraiser on August 21, and it was a HUGE success! We want to give a big thank you to all the volunteers, donors, and attendees who made it such an amazing time. And, of course, a special thanks goes to our residents who volunteered to help shuck the corn for the event! ??

Everyone had a wonderful time at our friend Cathy’s house! We spent the afternoon enjoying her beautiful garden and eating ice cream sundaes and snickerdoodle cookies.

Woman’s Day

Here are pictures from our Women’s Day celebration. We honored all women that day with corsages, a luncheon brunch, and entertainment with Carol McCormick. It was a special day! In the end, we raffled off the beautiful yellow flower centerpieces.

2016 Walk to End Alzheimer's-Southview Senior Communities-Walking to spreading Alzheimer's Awareness 2017 Alzheimer's Walk-Southview Senior Communities-Top Team

The 2017 Walk to End Alzheimer’s will take place on Saturday, September 9th at the Target Field in Minneapolis, MN. The registration begins at 7:30 AM, then the cermony at 9:00 AM, and lastly the walk at 9:25 AM. The walk is a 1 or 2.3 mile option and welcomes participants of all ages and abilities. Register to participate in the Walk, your fundraising dollars fuel our mission, and your participation helps to change the level of Alzheimer’s awareness in our community.

Alzheimer’s BBQ!

Southview Senior Living had an Alzheimer’s BBQ, what an amazing night! Not only did we have a BBQ, but a raffle as well. So many people donated prizes and gift cards for our raffle, and even donated money to the cause. We had so many people who came, around 160 or more, it was such a fun evening for everyone. We are really looking forward to next year. Thank you to all staff, families and friends, who made our BBQ and raffle, a success. You are all amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Painting Bird Houses

Our tenants had fun painting bird houses and butterflies, that we hang on the trees outside to decorate the trees, they really got into it, paint everywhere, what fun they had!

Memory Care Planting Flowers!

We have an annual flower garden planting in our Memory Care unit! One of our tenants, Marg Medina who came down to help us plant, has been a gardener all her life. She was great, we really needed her help. Everyone enjoyed their time gardening, it was a beautiful day to be gardening.
